Cuticle Care

The definition of cuticle is the nonliving epidermis that surrounds the edges of the fingernail or toenail. One of the most common complaints a client has is their cuticles.  "They are dry." "My cuticles are a mess." "They split. They are peeling."  Whatever the complaint, Qtica has formulated a wonderful product to tend to your cuticles.

It's not the average cuticle oil.  Qtica Solid Gold is a gel oil made up of a blend of 12 special oils. In addition to it's conditioning and moisturizing properties it also contains an antibacterial agent that kills bacteria around the cuticle area. The precious cuticle oil blend is housed in a spill proof applicator.  The citrus scent is energizing and clean.

You can purchase a tube of this amazing cuticle gel at Nail Designs by Jamie for $11.00.  It is well worth the investment.  A little bit goes a long way.  Cuticle gel makes your nails and toes picture perfect and freshens up any manicure or pedicure days after.

Your Safety Comes First

When you sit at my station, or when your feet soak in the pedicure tub, know that your safety comes first.

California State Board of Cosmetology Mission Statement is simple:

To ensure the health and safety of California consumers by promoting ethical standards and by enforcing the laws of the beauty industry.

The State Board sets specific rules that licensed technicians must follow.

Any implement used on you must have been sterilized in State Board approved sterilizer such as Barbicide or sterilized in a State Board approved Autoclave.  Certain things cannot be sterilized, for instance foot files, nail files, buffers must be thrown away after use.  After a nail service with me, I offer the nail file or foot file or both depending on the service you receive.  You can use the files at home for maintenance or you can bring them back to your next appointment.

Any Pedicure tub must be sanitized after each client. That means that the pipe-less jets must be removed, cleaned of debris, replaced and then sanitized.  The tub must be filled with State Board approved sanitizer and the disinfectant must run through the tub for 10 minutes.  The manicurist must log it in the Pedicure Sanitation Log.  As a consumer you can ask to see any establishments Pedicure Log.

Thankfully, we live in a State that has our safety in mind.  When you go to get your nails done at any establishment in California, you should have the peace of mind knowing that you are getting a safe service.  When you go to get your toes done the only thing you should be getting is a Pedicure, not a foot fungus.

When you come and have a service done with me, know your safety comes first.  I use only the best and most effective, State Board approved Disinfectants.  The implements I use are clean and the unsanitizable files are disposed of or given to you at the end of your service.

Pink and Whites With A Twist

The Beauty Industry is amazing. Different Manufacturers have come up with many things to make manicurists lives a bit more colorful. In turn, I can bring choices to you! You don't have to have pink and white acrylic nails. You can transform your manicure into something really fun. Be different, allow your personality to shine. I have many colors to chose from. I have even custom blended acrylic powders to make the perfect color.
Like a cute pair of shoes or a fun purse, your nails can be a colorful accessory too! Stripes or polka dots can be added to the colored tips to make your nails a work of art!

Are You Thinking About Removing Those Acrylics?

There comes a time in any Woman's life when the acrylic nails just need to go. Be it financial, time constraints, your nails have been covered for years and you just want to see what your real ones look like...

Acrylic Removal can be painless and inexpensive. With the help of a glass or ceramic bowl, lots of paper towels, bottle of PURE acetone and a nail file your acrylic nail enhancements will be off in no time.

I recommend picking out a good movie. Protect your coffee table with a trash bag and soak those nails off. If your manicurist uses a gel coat you will need to file the coat off. If you don't the nails will not dissolve. The dissolving process will take a bit of time and many paper towels. As the acrylic softens use paper towel to rub the softened acrylic off. Use the file to remove some of the acrylic and soak again. Filing the acrylic helps to expedite the process. Continue those steps until your natural nail is revealed. Enjoy watching the movie and before the credits run, your acrylics nails will be gone.

Now if you chose not to soak them off yourself, you can come see me and I will be more than happy to remove your acrylics for $40. This price includes a small bottle of Qtica Natural Nail Growth Stimulator.

Life After Acrylics. Some people chose to put their nails back on after a couple weeks. Others do not. There are many nail products that promote natural nail growth. My absolute favorite (after 12 years experience in the Nail Business) is Qtica Natural Nail Growth Stimulator. This product is amazing. Your nails will be stronger and longer if you follow the directions within 14 days. Seriously, it is a great product. You can purchase the .5 fluid oz bottle at Novilo Salon and Spa for $20. It is worth the $20 investment to have nice healthy looking nails.
